Topic outline

Chemical Termite Management Systems
The following course outlines requirements for chemicals to be used as a component of a termite management system to deter termites from gaining concealed access to a building.
-
From May the 1st 2017, sub -slab and other areas where you can not reenter to apply termiticides, a pest manager has to provide another way to replenish the degrading chemical.
A pest manager will not to able to plan to drill. This means to comply to AS3660.1 -2014, a pest manager will need to install a reticulation system to replenish the termiticide. All termite applications must conform to AS3660.3-2014.
-
Installers of the reticulation system and persons who inject termiticide into the system must have accreditation by Altis
This procedure is to be executed and read in conjunction with the manual and requirements of the Australian Standards Code and installers must be conversant with the details of this manual and future industry upgrades to the relevant code.
Chemicals are applied according to manufacturer’s APVMA approved label.
Until chemical injection has been completed this is not a viable termite management system.Certificates are issued to Installers but are only current while the installer is employed or is the owner of the company which signed an Altis contract
when training was given.Agreements require refreshing of training for installers at regular
intervals. The interval for retraining will be determined in conjunction with the installer
